How does this work?
Psychotherapy provides a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It can help you to understand old stuck patterns, to learn how to let go of things you can't change and to commit to changing the things that you can. The process can improve your mental health and your relationships, and help you align better with your values and goals. I creatively use and combine a range of therapy types to connect with my clients in the most effective, engaging and affirming way possible.
What does it cost?
I charge $160 for a 50-minute session. Most extended benefits plans will cover visits with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Please check with your plan to determine limits and whether they cover my services.

What is online therapy?
In online therapy, we will connect over a video platform on your computer or smartphone called "Jane." It is straight forward and easy to use. We will work together to identify the things that are holding you back from living your best life, and create tools and strategies for you to implement that will hopefully shift those things. Bonus: You don't even have to change out of your PJs or find parking!

Types of therapy I typically use:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than fight against them. By fostering acceptance, clients learn to be present in the moment and commit to actions that align with their values, leading to a more fulfilling life. ACT empowers individuals to break free from limitations imposed by their thoughts, helping them to navigate challenges with resilience and purpose. It's about living a richer, more meaningful life, even in the face of difficulties. It has proven effective with a very wide range of mental health and life struggles.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
EMDR therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. It involves gentle, titrated exposure to traumatic memories to facilitate their integration into the personal narrative. Through this process, clients can reduce distress associated with past events and develop healthier coping mechanisms. EMDR is often used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It is an effective treatment for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and stress.

See Kate talk!
Sometimes it's difficult to get a real sense of what a person is like from a webpage.
Please click on the video for a quick introduction to me and my speaking voice! (You might have to toggle the sound button at the bottom right corner of my video).

Come to think of it, this isn't actually much better than the photos, so I'd encourage you to sign up for a free 15-minute consultation so we can actually meet.
